Caprichai goats receive 3-7 hours of personal interaction daily in order to ensure a friendly and workable disposition. This time is divided between walks for exercise, training, and company. They also are socialized with a number of different people and animals including dogs, cats, and chickens.
The herd recieves a daily change in orchard grass hay and fresh water. In addition, each morning brings a breakfast of grain equaling half of their daily allotment. The other half is used as treats for training. Only small bits of fresh produce are offered daily as a treat in order to keep the goats feasting on the local browse that gets their rumens working.
Caprichai goats are trained using a clicker and target staff, but once trained they respond to commands and hand gestures. These goats learn both functional commands (up, down, off, inside, walk) and cute tricks like tail chasing and pretending to drive. This ensures that both goat and herder can get things done and have fun at the same time.
